2012 LSHM Board

Greetings to All!
I am pleased to announce your 2012 Board.
Ian Straus
Joe Shaffer
Mark Reed
Biff Coon
Brian Bird VP
David Beeson Pres.

We are and will be working on several items this year;

1. Ian Straus is heading up a committee to reinvigorate the chapters of LSHM, please sent any ideas you might have to him and please let him know if you would care to become involved in your chapter or LSHM in general.

2. The board will be working on a site to hold an additional gaming convention each spring, baby steps to start but a start will be made this year.

3. Support of other miniature gaming in Texas hopefully with more attendance, please let me know any thoughts you may have in this area as well.

4. Use of this great web site Richard has build for us, we would like to have all the LSHM chapters use our site as opposed to the yahoo sites as soon as possible.I believe it is the best way to keep us all together as a group.

Again, please let us know your ideas for your chapter of LSHM in general!

Thank you,

David Beeson

French Revolution

French Revolution (LSHMWaco) – Austrian vs French Small Engagement – The Austrian IV and V Corps met the French rabble whose identity doesn’t really matter since they are lost to history as a footnote. The French suffered over 4000 loses versus the Austrian 400. The Austrian captured numerous standards and killed and captured the majority of the commanders. The remaining command staff will probably surrender later on since if they return to France, they will dance with Mistress Guillotine. (28mm Eureka figures. Carnage and Glory II rules)

Bonaparte in Italy – Rivoli

It is early 1797 in Northern Italy. FML Alvincy has designs on relieving the besieged Austrian garrison at Mantua. Standing in his way lies Napoleon’s Armee d Italie. Historically the campaigned ended in Alvincy’s superior force decisively defeated at Rivoli. However, this time the Austrians will surely plan and execute better. But such is really up to the Austrian players, isn’t it? 28MM – 16ft table Presented by the LSHM Waco Chapter. Close Action Action at Dragon’s Lair San Antonio

Our regular game night saw the Napoleonic fleets come out. Had 8 or 9 folks in on the fun. Here’s a shot of the action. These are 1/900 Portsmouth miniatures using Close Action rules.

Millenniumcon 14 Photo Gallery

The Millenniumcon 14 Photo Gallery has been posted.

Huuuuge thanks for all the support we received at Millennium this year. The show was a big success and for the volunteers that work so hard to put it together, that is our reward. It could not have happened without the GMs, the vendors, and all the players. Thanks to all of you. And thanks to the staff of Millennium 14 – you make it all come together.

Millenniumcon 14 Chapter Cup Challenge

The Millennium 14 Cup Challenge was won by Francisco Erize for his game The Battle of Maipu – Chile 1818. Maipu was the final climactic battle for the independence of Chile and Argentina. General Jose de San Martin crossed the Andes mountains with a Chielan-Argentine patriot army and faced the royalist forces not far from Santiago de Chile near the Maipo river.

HotT in San Antonio, pt 2

Pics from another Hordes of the Things game between Leroux and myself. Empire civil war with his League of the Scarlet Falcon forces vs my Ostlanders, supported by an Altdorf contingent. As attacker, I got to roll for table edge and was able to stick them with a terrain-thick side, which allowed me to maneuver and concentrate on a portion of his army as he tried to bring his forces to bear. Once again, the hapless Magician would be the telling blow as he would fall to my Greatsword Blade General. Another fun game and great time with Leroux…

Panoramic HotT

Leroux created a cool panoramic pic from one of our HotT games with an iphone app he has and sent me the image. I got creative and knocked out the background and made it look even better! Hope you enjoy…

Hordes of the Things – LSHM-SA

Here are some shots of the HotT game I had with Leroux on HotT Night in November. I broke out new Empire elements I have been working on; Leroux brought his League of the Scarlet Falcon (who are the nemesis to my Ulthuan High Elves!). Mark chose to deploy a river on the board in such a manner that I was able to constrict his forces and nullify others for the win!

Circus Maximus in SA

Johnnie Rod brought out his Circus Maximus board Tuesday night Dec 6 for the SA crowd. We had about a dozen folks in the chase and – considering it was essentially a blood-less affair (well, except for Abe) – we finished the 2 laps pretty early. A couple of shots are included…
